In order for Centennial Middle School to meet Snohomish School District’s educational specifications, it needed to go through a major modernization and addition. The update allowed learning communities, a science wing, a new 23,000 sf classroom wing, a 15,000 sf health & fitness building, and a new cafeteria to be added to the original middle school. The new science labs are filled with up-to-date equipment and the latest technology. Each lab features a teacher demonstration area to easily allow students to view the activity on display.
The new buildings include elements that respect the surrounding environment with minimal site disruption. Each part of the building exceeds WSSP using high performance insulated walls and roofs, ground source geothermal wells, natural ventilation and abundant daylighting.
