Katie Pond

Principal, LEED AP BD+C Assoc. DBIA

Katie deeply enjoys working with clients and facilitating discussions to understand each project’s unique needs and challenges. She routinely cultivates a design process that brings diverse groups of stakeholders together to reach consensus. Her keen attention to detail, and ability to balance creative and practical solutions against program and community priorities make her an invaluable asset to any client and project.

In her role as Principal, Katie is energetic and detail oriented in her approach to design and client interaction. No matter the scope of the project, she understands the impact that educational facilities have on a community and focuses her energy on improving them for the students, teachers, and staff that occupy them.

An avid green-thumb, Katie loves to work in her garden when she’s not chasing down her daughter, who usually gets to the blueberries and raspberries first! She and her husband also enjoy making home-made ice cream, a decadent raspberry swirl being the best one yet!

My love of what I do stems from the dynamic nature of architecture. Our clients ensure that no two projects are ever the same – constantly pushing us to deepen our understanding of teaching and learning. With each new endeavor, we are challenged with a unique set of needs and given both the freedom and humbling responsibility of creating the best possible manifestation of those requirements.
