Tom Chapel has served as a project architect or project manager on educational projects with budgets ranging from several thousand dollars to $30 million. He has 30 years of professional experience, including more than 25 years of experience as a school design specialist. The lion’s share of his experience is in project management, handling project responsibilities from programming to the final punch list and closeout. Tom also brings a wealth of knowledge about local and national building and fire codes to every project.
Tom has primary responsibility for the design, contract documents, and the construction administration of a project. Tom provides oversight and assistance in the planning and educational specification phases of a project. He then takes over as the primary point of contact, from the schematic design phase through the occupancy and warranty phases. Tom manages the design team, provides consultant coordination, attends all meetings with the district project manager throughout the design phase, and serves as the lead for construction administration. His high school facility experience, design skill, and precise contract documents make him an extraordinary resource. Tom ’s commitment to communication and flexibility has helped to build good relationships with the firm’s clients and its network of builders.
