Granite Falls High SchoolNew Construction The new Granite Falls High School was completed in December of 2007. The segmented front facades are arranged on a slight curve. The skewed faces and sloped glass of the various parts of the building catch light in new and fascinating ways at every different time of day. Sometimes the overhangs and structural elements hold dramatic shadows. At other times, they appear to reflect or glow. Balconies and give light, air and space to the students as they move between classes and activities and allow excellent sightlines for safety and security. The story of Granite Falls High School includes a school district master plan to make effective use of existing school buildings while providing an excellent new school for secondary education. The school opened less than two and one-half years after the bond. The record-setting timeline to design and construct this project was possible because of the shared vision and will of this outstanding Washington Community.
