Silver Lake ElementaryModernization/Addition One of the main design goals for Silver Lake Elementary was to provide a new welcoming, identifiable main entry. Inside, the administration area remains in its original location. With a small addition, it was reorganized to include four offices, two conference rooms, health room, workroom, restrooms, and a staff lounge. The existing library was updated with a ceiling raised to provide an open, inviting atmosphere. New book shelves, both mobile and stationary, now provide a larger work area for staff and added flexibility for teachers and students. The reorganization of this space provided enough space to add a new attached computer lab that can be easily monitored by library staff. A new gym, cafeteria, and stage/music classroom have been added on the other side of the campus, which now allows the school to function more efficiently. This change opens up the main office to the visitor parking area and creates a better sense of entry and wayfinding throughout the building.
